No Excuses! Just Play!

_Designed by Cindy Ribet and Ken Kolodner.

For over 20 years, I have collected "excuses" from students in private lessons and in workshops why they might have missed a note or two! I must admit that I have used many of the excuses myself. As a joke, I thought it would be fun to make up a t-shirt with excuses that we have all used to help explain why we don't play better. The t-shirt caught on far more than I had ever imagined. So here it is. My daughter Hillary and my son Bradley modeled the shirts. I used high quality 100% cotton heavy weight Gildan t-shirts. On the back are listed over 25 excuses: "I know I can play it better but.... It sounded better at home. I can't play when someone is watching. I play better in the morning. These are the wrong hammers. I don't like that tune anyway. These are the wrong glasses. There are too many shadows..." and many more! Enjoy it and wear it proudly!

Instrument Sales and Rentals

Hammered Dulcimers for Sale/Rent
I offer a wide variety of hammered dulcimers for sale and rent. Most beginners start out by renting by taking advantage of a rent-to-buy option. Monthly rents are $30 with $20 applied to the purchase of ANY instrument that I can get for you. This is a great way to find out if the instrument is for you and to find out about all the possible options for instruments. I primarily sell the full line of Dusty Strings, Masterworks, Songbird and Rick Thum instruments. I carry all accessories including various kinds of stands (adjustable by Folkcraft, Stringfever, David Lindsey), various kinds of hammers (I especially like Dusty Strings and Ed Hale's), and everything else you might need (electronic tuners, pick-ups etc.). Contact me directly to find out what I have in stock and to ask about prices.
Fiddles for Sale/Rent
I offer for sale a variety of fiddles made by Bob Morgan. Bob originally came to me to learn to play fiddle. I quickly discovered that he makes absolutely wonderful instruments at very reasonable prices ranging from $750 to $1250. I also have restored student violins at prices starting around $350. I carry all accessories including bows (I like carbon fiber), light-weight cases and everything else you might need (shoulder rests, strings, tuners etc.). A rent-to-buy option is available. Monthly rents are $30 with $20 applied to the purchase of ANY instrument that I can get for you. Contact me directly to find out what I have in stock.
