Spend a week in Sandbridge Beach, VA at a terrific large 10 bedroom beach house (6.5 baths) overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is about a 100 yard walk to dipping your feet in the ocean! Our house is called "Hang Ten" 3105 Sandfiddler Rd., Sandbridge, VA 23456

This is an intensive workshop in a wonderfully relaxing and supportive environment. Workshop topics and daily schedule will be determined through discussions of participants with Ken prior to the workshop. Expect a minimum of approximately 5-6 hours of daily group instruction. Informal instruction plus lots of informal jamming typically occurs. We often do evening instructional sessions, depending on our energy levels. Likely topics include arranging, accompaniment, application of chord theory, improvisation and much more. I provide written music for all unarranged and arranged versions for all pieces that I present. Additionally, I break down all that is presented in a summary video which is provided for a small additional cost ($35). Dinners are prepared daily by a chef. It is typically warm enough to swim in the ocean.

The first week is designed to be mostly for a strong intermediate level players while the second week is designed primarily for advanced players. However, there will be a mix of levels at each week. The level of player tends to be relatively high at this workshop and we strive to move along as fast as possible, without stressing out the participants. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants.

Ken evaluates all applicants for acceptance into the workshop. Based on your availability, space in the weeks, and your playing experience, Ken will work with each participant to place you in the two weeks.

Class will begin Monday morning and conclude noontime on Friday, with a Saturday morning checkout.

Sunday - Check in anytime, dinner at 6:30. For a small additional cost ($55 per person), you may check in a day early.

Typically, I do a concert on the Saturday between the two weeks. This has not yet been schedule.

Total cost of $940 includes private room lodging (Sunday-Friday nights), meals (Sunday dinner-Friday lunch) and workshops.

Non-playing spouse may share your room for $350, which includes meals.

Discount of $150 per person for room sharing for participants.

Non-refundable deposit of $250 is required with registration (+ $75 for spouse). Deposit and application is due May 15, 2010.

Balance of $690 (+ $275 for spouse) must be postmarked by Aug. 31.

Cancellation Policy: Deposits are non-refundable. Balance of workshop fee refundable only if spot can be filled. I strongly encourage the purchase of travel insurance.

PLEASE NOTE: A Saturday arrival is available but no meals are provided on Saturday. House will be open by 4-5 PM (Be warned: you might be put to work! There is a $55 fee for early arrival.)
