A word from Ken on
purchasing CDs directly from the Artist:
Why purchase CDs directly from an artist? The short
answer is while any support of independent
labels and stores is great, buying the products directly from the musician is a direct way
to support them.
Which CDs should I
buy?
I've recorded nine CDs not including compilations and guest
recordings. People always ask, "Which one is your favorite?" I
really can't answer that question very easily! But I will try to give
you a little direction. Of course, I just released "Journey to the Heartland"
and this one represents most what I am doing these days. I play fiddle and
hammered dulcimer on this recording.
However, the biggest seller has been by far Walking Stones, followed by
The Winter Solstice Celebration and A Roof for the Rain.
If you are looking for something more on the "Celtic" side, check out
Walking Stones, Greenfire, and Roof for the Rain.
"Roof" also features a nice French-Canadian repertoire. I am joined
on all of these by Laura Risk, who is an incredibly musical fiddler,
and various guest musicians including long time musical partner from
Helicon and Greenfire and amazing musician Robin Bullock, the
well-known dance musician from Nightingale, Keith Murphy, and
cittern-wizard, Joseph Sobol. I play only the hammered dulcimer on
these recordings. If you are looking for more of an international mix,
check any of the Helicon recordings, especially The Titan,
Horizons and the Winter Solstice recording.
