GREENFIRE: A CELTIC STRING ENSEMBLE
DOR-90265 (Dorian)
GREENFIRE (1998)
Ken Kolodner, Hammer
Dulcimer
Laura Risk, Fiddle and Viola
Robin Bullock, 6 & 12 String Guitars, Cittern and Piano
Following up on the
success of Walking Stones, Dorian and the trio (Kolodner, Risk, and Bullock
otherwise known as Greenfire) were anxious to record from their Celtic
repertoire. The result was a mix of some standard session tunes, a number
of lesser known tunes and originals. Ken's favorite from this recording
is Sheila Coyle's, played at a very slow tempo with a completely improvised
arrangement.
